Description & Purpose

A temporary grant for individuals facing extreme financial hardship and unable to meet basic needs.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for Social Relief of Distress Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee

No source of income

Not receiving any other social grants or UIF payments
4
Experiencing extreme distress (e.g., job loss, natural disaster)
