Common Questions

Can I receive multiple grants?

In some cases, you may qualify for multiple grants. However, certain combinations are not permitted by law. Contact SASSA for specific combinations.

What if my circumstances change?

You must inform SASSA of any changes in income, assets, or circumstances that might affect your eligibility. This helps avoid overpayment and potential legal issues.

How is joint income calculated?

For married couples, both incomes are added together. This includes regular income, investments, and maintenance payments for relevant grants.

What about informal income?

All income must be declared, including informal work, selling goods, or occasional jobs. Use an affidavit if you don't have formal documentation.
